THE SURREY FILM-VIDEO FESTIVAL WAS HELD ON 22 January 2005, in its 22nd year. We crafitly skipped a year by changing from a November to January date, to avoid several other festivals taking place at the end of each year. We also moved to back to our favoured central location at Guildford. We had 38 entries giving us nearly 5 hours of material. to cram into 3 hours of show time.
The Festival was held at the Electric Theatre, in the county town of Guildford. This superbly equipped theatre, opened in 1997 in the heart of the town for the specific promotion of the arts generally, boasts comfortable raked seating for 180 people, with integrated bar and refreshment facilities.
Thanks to all those entrants who have provided 38 entries.
Some facts and figures on the entries are listed below. All winners and selected others, were given a big-screen presentation, and every entrant received copies of the comments by each of an experienced panel of judges. There were no restrictions on the subject matter or running time of the entries.
