The Festival will be held on Sunday 18 January 2009 .....
THE 23rd SURREY FILM-VIDEO FESTIVAL will be held on 18
January 2009 with an entry deadline of 15 December 2008. This year we
were again in the Electric Theatre, in central
Guildford, Surrey. This superbly equipped theatre was created for the
promotion of the arts in the community. The main auditorium has raked
seating for up to 180 people, a cinema screen, theatre lighting and
sound systems. There is a cafe for refreshments with licensed bar
between afternoon and evening sessions. Hot food can be ordered for
serving before the evening sessions.
There is ample parking nearby and it is a few minutes walk
from the main bus and train stations.
The Films and Videos
The Festival is open to all amateur and student film and
video makers based in Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and SW London Postal
Districts. We typically receive up to 40 enrtries which are judged
before the Festival. We try to show as many of the entries as time will
allow
Judging
We have three judges, each with considerable experience in
judging amataeur movies. Their compatible skills will cover all aspects
of the art form.
Entry Categories
The `Surrey` likes to attract as wide a range of entries as
possible, so we have several entry categories, with corresponding
awards:
- Adult for adults
- Youth for 18 to 21-year-olds.
- Junior for the under-18`s.
- Student for full-time students
working towards professionalism in the field and whose work is
therefore pro-am in nature, normally having access to professional
assistance and facilities.

entry fees.
Tickets are available at £6, for individual IAC members, £8

Refreshments
Teas and coffees were available between the afternoon
sessions and a light supper was available after session 2. There is a
licenced bar and cafe/restuarant at the Theatre.
There are also restuarants and pubs in Guildford. In view of
the short time between sessions these are best visited after the
Festival.
