Here's the latest entry information on the SF-VF 2009.....

THE SURREY FILM-VIDEO FESTIVAL 2009 is in its 27th year and is back on a Sunday 18 January 2009. This year we are again in the Electric Theatre, in central Guildfdord, Surrey. The theatre has a main auditorium with raked seating for up to 180 people with a cinema screen, theatre lighting and sound systems. There is plenty of nearby parking and it is close to the bus and train stations.

Entering your Film or Video

The entry deadline is 15 December 2008, so you can relax and enjoy Christmas while we do the judging. We want all your movies, from regulars and newcomers alike. We know the effort that has gone into them - give them a chance to be seen! All winners and selected others, will be given a big-screen presentation, and every entrant will receive copies of the comments by each of an experienced panel of judges. There are no restrictions on the subject matter or running time of your entries but, as we wish to screen as many movies as possible, it may be necessary for any longer ones to be shown in extract form only.

Entry Fees

Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate fee:

• Junior, Youth and Student entries are FREE
• Adults, entry fee is £6 for individual IAC members and affiliated clubs and £8 for all other entrants including those whose only link with the IAC is through an affiliated club..
• Please include the correct return postage if you are not collecting your entry at the Festival
• Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to `Surrey Film-Video Festival`
• One free ticket for the Festival is given to each Entry.
• If an Entrant submits several Entries, only one free ticket will be provided.
• Additional tickets can be purchased for others visiting the Festival.

We Don't Want to Ruin Your Video ...

You may enter your movies on DVD, tape or film.

• Video entries must be the ONLY items on the tape or disc on which they are submitted

• Videos tapes should have a 30 sec blank section at the start and give the projectionist a 3-second cue-in.

• The video cassettes or discs should be in boxes.

• If your DVD has a menu, please tell us how to navigate through this to the movie you want us to see.

• Please tell us if you have a special screen format, such as widescreen

• If you want to enter a movie in HD format, we may ask you to loan us playback equipment

Where Do You Live?

Entries are welcome from anyone living in Surrey in the UK, or in the South West London postal districts, Hampshire, Berkshire and those parts of Middlesex south of the Thames.

Entrants will receive one free ticket as described above. Visitors can pay at the door, or get tickets in advance by post, from the Competition Officer, at the above address.
